[P1] PSP for Engineers - planning (5 days)

Schedule: 2024/5/20(Mon) - 5/24(Fri)

[P2] PSP for Engineers - Quality (5 days)

Schedule: 2024/6/10(Mon) -6/14(Fri)

These two courses provide engineers with the engineering processes, planning and tracking, and quality management skills they need through seminars and training.

In the PSP Planning course, engineers learn how and benefits to summarize the solutions to be developed from the description of the problem requirements into a conceptual design, as input, planning and tracking such as estimates, and defect recording and analysis tracking. In the first half of this course, you will focus on how to generate conceptual design from requirements.

In the PSP Quality Management course, you will learn quality planning, tracking and improvement, and how to use and review design templates. If you can plan in detail, you can use data-based predictions (leading indicators) and performance (delay indicators) to quickly notice and solve problems and manily manage development as planned. You can also experience that the results deviate from the plan when the quality collapses.

These courses include14 lectures and 9 exercises and 4 reporting assignments. You will also learn how to apply PSP techniques to other structured tasks, and make sure that you have the ability to accurately represent development data and organize logical analysis into reports.

There are individual differences in learning speed, but it is necessary to secure and plan about 150 hours (2 weeks per course) in total for classes and exercises. Course instructors review and interview submitted reports and conduct Q&A throughout all the student's learning time to ensure the understanding and acquisition.

Students must have completed these two courses, submitted all assignment lab reports, and received completion signs in order to be considered PSP engineers. PSP engineers will be able to applythe PSP approach to their work/work.

PSP engineers participate in TSP projects and work with other TSP team members to effectively develop software using PSP principles and concepts you can proceed. It can also be applied to non-software work, such as hardware development, user system requirements analysis, and solution development. In addition, it is also a reference as a standard approach example of work style reform such as remote work and telecommuting.
